Seventh heaven: Vardy equals Henry and Shearer record

Seventh heaven: Vardy equals Henry and Shearer record
Five years ago Jamie Vardy was playing non-league football for Halifax Town, but on Saturday afternoon he became just the eighth player in Premier League history to score in seven consecutive games.
The 28-year-old scored the winner as the Foxes beat Crystal Palace 1-0 to continue his remarkable start to the season and maintain his place at the top of the division's goalscoring charts.
Vardy's run of form in front of goal means he has now equalled a record achieved by some of the finest players to have graced England's top flight.
Mark Stein, Ian Wright, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Emmanuel Adebayor and Daniel Sturridge are the only other players to have managed the feat.

Ruud van Nistelrooy holds the record for the longest scoring streak with a purple patch that stretched 10 games during his time with Manchester United.
And Vardy will fancy his chances of matching the Dutchman's record as Leicester face a run of three favourable fixtures in the shape of West Brom, Watford and Newcastle.
